Pink Parcel Review – December 2017

*Pink Parcel – December 2017
Price of the Box per month: £12.99 including free postage

If there’s one subscription box that never fails to impress and bring a smile to my face it’s Pink Parcel and for December they’ve featured a host of goodies and have certainly ended the year on a high even more so as it includes one of my most loved perfume brands from the US – English Laundry! Boasting fantastic value and covering a good ground on the beauty and lifestyle front, this edition is so spot on for this time of the year and feels very festive, something that’s certainly been lacking inside other boxes. In other news, Pink Parcel have increased their subscription price to £12.99 for new subscribers however those with a rolling subscription will continue to be charged £10.50.

If you’re new to Pink Parcel it’s a subscription service for your monthly cycle who send you what you need, right when you need it as well as some lovely treats to brighten up those days of the month. With three dispatch dates to choose from, Pink Parcel literally take care of everything and will ship your box before your period is due. If you’re worried about flows and absorbencies, they have that covered too as you can choose your preferred brand as well as the type of sanitary items to suit your flow making it completely bespoke to your needs.

Without further ado here’s what you can expect to see inside this month’s Pink Parcel:

If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you’ll already know that I’m a massive fan of the brand English Laundry so I was delighted to see one of my all-time favourite fragrances from them amongst the line-up. This month all subscribers can expect to see the English Laundry Signature Purse Spray (RRP £16.00) which is an Oriental Vanilla fragrance with top notes of rose geranium and creamy white flowers as well as woody spicy and musky notes. If you love sweet floral scents then this one is an excellent choice however due to it being intensely sweet I’ll be saving this one for the summer months.

Up next and fuelling my love for this month’s box even more is the Maggie Anne Nail Polish in ‘Camela’ (Full Size RRP £10.50) and subscribers will either receive this shade or ‘Argentina’. This is my first introduction to award winning brand Maggie Anne but they pride themselves on being 6 toxin free gel effect nail polishes, vegan friendly, Peta cruelty-free and Beauty Without Bunnies licence approved and completely safe for pregnant ladies. I love that Pink Parcel picked out two very festive shades this month.

When it comes to getting that coveted flick, I’ve tried my hand at quite a few different liners – felt tipped pens, gel pots, liquid liners you name it, I’ve probably given it a go! The So Susan Mesmer-Eyes Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (full size, £18.99) is described as long-lasting waterproof liquid eyeliner that promises to stay intact no matter what the weather throws at us. It has a fine tip that’s perfect for achieving a precise flick and the pigmented formula really makes the eyes pop.

Sticking to makeup we have The Beauty Crop Eyehshadow Trio in the shade ‘Coco Loco’ (Full Size RRP £7.00) but as you can see from the photo above mine arrived broken which is a shame. This trio of high intensity pigments are ultra-blendable helping you create a multitude of gorgeous eye looks – from the perfect everyday bright eyed look to dramatic smoky eyes. Nourished with Avocado, our formulation hydrates the skin while allowing you to highlight, shadow, line and contour with our combination of colours. Use dry for a more natural finish or wet for a more dramatic effect.

Up next and another favourite of mine is the Sanatio Naturalis Sweet Orange Aromatherapy Oil (Full Size, 10ml, £15), a pure therapeutic-quality aromatherapy essential oil, and is cold-pressed from the rind of the Italian sun-ripened oranges. Their Sweet Orange, grown in Calabria and Sicily, in southern Italy, boasts a unique and sunny quality. Fruits are harvested between November and February, when the oils are at their best. Every orange is expertly harvested by hand, cut at the stalk using special hand-secateurs, ensuring the optimum condition. I love citrusy scents and this one is such a great mood booster.

If the above hasn’t got you in that Christmas mood then the Pom Secret Santa Snowflake Earrings (£8.00) will! These earrings are so adorable and will go with any outfit!

Tea and Sweet Treats – 2 items

As well as the beauty and lifestyle line up you can also expect to see a sample of tea and foodie treats – the perfect mix to satisfy those cravings and as always they sure do hit the spot but always disappear so quickly!

Inside this month’s curation you can expect to see The Fudge Kitchen Orange Caramel Fudge (love that it’s sprinkled with glitter!) and a Whittard Earl Grey teabag.

My Verdict

I thought this was such a fantastic box to end the year with and I love that the selection also gives off that festive vibe, an aspect that’s been really lacking inside some of the other boxes so thank you Pink Parcel – this month’s box was such a true treat and amazing value for money. If I had to pick a favourite (there were lots this month), I would say the English Laundry purse spray was hands down my first choice this month, but since I already have the full size it’s only fair that I choose something else! In that case, the nail varnish, the earrings and the oil are definitely firm winners from what I tried so far. I have to give it to Pink Parcel, this collection is so on point from the theme, the value right through to the contents they picked out for us – they certainly saved the best edit until last in my opinion! I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in 2018 and if like me you can’t wait then here’s a sneak peek inside their January edit

If you haven’t got on the Pink Parcel train yet then it’s definitely a subscription I highly recommend and the thrill of the surprise will not fail to make you look forward to that time of the month!

This will be my last review for 2017 but I will be back in the new year. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support this year.
